& the beat goes on - Corbin Delk heart transplant
Donation protected
UPDATE: Corbin had his heart transplant June 4th! He’s doing great but still has a long road ahead. Please keep us in your prayers!!
Corbin Delk is 18 years old and is a rising Junior at Barnwell High School. Corbin is currently an inpatient at MUSC SJCH awaiting a heart transplant. Corbin was born with Congenital Heart Disease and has had 6 open heart surgeries since birth. Corbin will remain inpatient until transplant and we don’t know how long that will be. The pressures in his heart are elevated and he tired so easily. He is also receiving an IV medication to help with that. These elevated pressures are also causing complications with his liver and kidneys.
Corbin never meets a stranger and is very much a jokester. He is passionate about music, live steaming, and skateboarding. He hasn’t been able to enjoy skating in the last few months because of his heart. He will be required to stay in Charleston for 4-6 weeks after transplant, so the doctors can get his anti rejection and immune suppressive medication at the right level. The money raised will help with the added expenses of being inpatient and after discharge. Thank you all for your prayers and support during this time!
