Read our story here as well to learn more about our journey: Daily Mail  & NBC12 Richmond

Our journey began 3 years ago...we  hoped to become parents, but while trying to conceive for a year, we never had any luck.   We decided to meet with a fertility specialist to discuss our options.  We discovered through testing and numerous failed treatments over the next year that Christy's chances of having children on her own without medicine would be slim to none.   With only one option left, we decided to give IVF a shot as our last attempt at having a child of our own.  While we were feeling extremely optimistic about the treatment, we unfortunately did not get the news we wanted to hear.  We were exhausted mentally, physically, and financially.  We cried so many tears because we felt like failures and we were basically convinced we weren’t meant to be parents at all.  At this point we decided to take a break to reevaluate our goals.

After taking time to figure out if we wanted to continue this journey, and after so many failed attempts, and thousands of dollars out of our pocket, we literally put all of our eggs in one basket.  We took out a huge loan to try one last and final time to have a baby.  We wanted to have children so desperately that it was either go with adoption...or try one last time, and we chose to gamble as the reward would be priceless to have our own baby, knowing we would have to pay the loan back regardless.  We were so nervous about it,  and extremely scared of failure all over again.  So we did the treatment and the “two-week wait” began.  We were so anxious to find out if it had worked, so we got some tests right away and took one on day 5.  We could not believe our eyes when there it was... our big fat positive that we had hoped and prayed for.  Words can’t describe how we felt at that moment.  But it was the best feeling in the world.  Finally our dream to become parents was real!  Little did I know that our wish had come true......times three.

Our beautiful triplet babies were born premature by two months at just over 3lbs. We spent the next 32 days in the NICU with the wonderful nurses and doctors there to take care of our babies 24/7. While that was one of the most stressful and unnerving 32 days, we knew our babies were in great hands.  We ended up getting released from the NICU on Mother’s Day and it couldn’t have been a better gift.

We were finally at home with our three babies (a boy and twin girls) and couldn’t have been happier.  Right around this time the medical bills started coming in, and we couldn’t figure out why Ryan's insurance through his work wasn’t covering all of the expenses. We had met our deductible and we were told everything would be covered.  The reason we chose this hospital in the first place was because they were in network.  However, we soon learned that although our hospital was ‘in-network’, some of the doctors were considered ‘out-of-network’.  We are in continuous talks with the hospital and insurance company to figure out a solution.  And while we are extremely fortunate to have this blessing ,  we are struggling to make ends meet due to the unexpected medical bills as well as having to buy three of everything!   We are very modest parents who only want to be able to provide for our children.  The cost of childcare far exceeds Christy's pre-pregnancy income, so she stays home to care for the children while Ryan works full time.  Any help is greatly appreciated and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help, kindness, and generosity.
