The Beginning of the End of Greyhound Racing

Stopping a new track being built in the North West will be the beginning of the end of Greyhound Racing in Tasmania.

Over 13,500 Tasmanians signed a petition to end funding TasRacing. Thank you to everyone who signed on. 74% of Tasmanian's polled do not support Greyhound Racing.

The momentum to end the cruelty of greyhound racing is continuing to gather as the industry continues to lose its social license. Tasmanians have spoken, and the Rockliff Government is on notice yet again. This industry, that breeds dogs to die or be cast aside when they don’t run fast enough, has had its time.

Local residents in Wesley Vale are appealing the development approval for a new Greyhound racing track. So with the support from politicians and advocates from all over Tasmania, Australia and the world we WILL stop a new track. But we can only succeed with your help. Last week Greens Leader Rosalie Woodruff and Kristie Johnston (Independent), along with several Greyhound Advocates met with Christine Dorchak and Carey Theil of GREY2K USA Worldwide to discuss the changes that are coming - it WILL happen.

GREY2K has fought for, and succeeded after decades of fighting the good fight, to all but end greyhound racing in the USA.

We WILL phase out Greyhound racing and STOP the proposed track.
