I am Justice williams, Bernard Toone and Chris toone nephew Kim Toone son. Bernard Toone was born and raised in Yonkers New York. He attended Gorton High School where he was an outstanding athlete, because he was so great he was able to attend any college that he wanted to and he selected Marquette University. While being at Marquette he helped achieve the school's first NCAA championship in 1977. After his four years, he went on to the NBA where he was drafted in the second round 37th pick to the Philadelphia 76ers. Where he was taken under the wing of Julius Erving better known as Dr. J, after his short NBA career he went overseas to continue his NBA career in various countries Italy, Germany Venezuela. Four years after that he decided he didn’t want to be away from his family anymore so he decided to stop playing basketball and come back home. Upon him returning home he fell upon hard times and he did things he probably shouldn’t have done but he was always still a huge part of his community. He became ill and tried his best to hide his sickness but it was obvious to so many that he was suffering. We are so sad to report that over the Fourth of July week he was no longer able to fight his battle with cancer and he passed away. He leaves behind 3 daughters 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother his sister and a host of nieces and nephews. I know times are hard but if you could find it in your heart to make a heartfelt donation it would be highly appreciated. Thank you for all of the love and prayers. Warm regards The Family
