The Bicycle Ride Across Texas to Save Nick's
Tax deductible
A 928-mile bike ride to save a disabled-serving non-profit.
Nick's Differently Awesome Outreach enhances the lives of adults with disabilities by providing safe and accommodating employment. Having a job means a sense of dignity, purpose, belonging, and acceptance. Recently, Nick’s moved from a food truck to a small building at the Wolfforth Farmers Market and offered shaved ice and milkshakes. However, operations are on hiatus due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
Before the outbreak, Nick's already had a much-needed fundraiser in place to keep it from shutting down. Nick’s founder, Bruce Bussell, plans on riding his bicycle from Texoma, Oklahoma, to South Padre, Texas in July, spanning 928 miles in the hopes of raising money. Given that Nick's is not operating until further notice, they need your help now more than ever.
Bruce is a 64-year-old retired special education teacher. He is an avid bicycle rider, frequently going on long-distance rides. Bruce is combining his love for Nick's and bicycle riding to raise funds and awareness for the differently awesome employees. The bicycle ride itself will be self-funded and 100% of all proceeds will go to save Nick's.
If successful, this fundraiser will allow Nick's to operate to their fullest potential. They will be able to hire more differently awesome employees, keep their shack at the Farmers Market, and expand their menu. Any contribution would mean the world to these awesome workers
