The Bisbee Family Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Jenny and it is my honor to introduce my dear friends, Ron and Jen Bisbee and their amazing family. Ronnie is the very proud father of 3 of the most amazing kids on the planet. Cash 9, Kinley 6 and Brookie 4, Oh!! And it would be a mistake to leave out the 4-legged daughter, Ellie Mae.
It was a little over 2 yrs. ago, when a simple Doctors appointment for pain in Ronnie’s shoulder, began a tumultuous, painful journey, a journey of fighting Multiple Myeloma, blood cancer…
This journey has taken the family through all the ups and downs that anyone could experience when fighting this awful disease. Ronnie has endured countless treatments of Chemotherapy, radiation, stem cell therapy, and countless hospital stays. Recently, Ronnie and Jen were told that despite all these efforts, Ronnie has 2 years to live.
Ronnie’s wife, Jen, became a dear friend of mine when I began working next to her at the University of Colorado Hospital. Little did I know that Jen and Ronnie had just began the battle of fighting this new diagnosis of cancer, as her smile and laughter lit up the room. Jen is a Cardiac RN who pours her heart and soul into each patient she interacts with daily. I have the honor of witnessing this in our work each day. Its difficult to understand the complexity one faces when they go from being the Registered Nurse who works everyday to “fix” the sick, to the wife of a husband battling cancer. This is something that only those who are going through this could understand entirely. Excepting help has been very difficult for both, but it is with their blessing that I type this letter and tell their story.
I cannot even begin to describe the strength that Jen provides to her husband and family each day, or the strength that Ronnie has shown through the pain and unknown of Multiple Myeloma. Today I would like to show them the strength that we as a community can provide as they continue to battle cancer. I have set up this Gofundme page in an effort to help support the family financially, as it is becoming increasingly more difficult for Jen to work full time and care for Ronnie. The money raised will also cover some of the medical bills that stream in.
The Bisbee family, one and all, are so truly grateful for not only the monetary donations but simple thoughts and prayer as well. Together as a community, we can move mountains! I appreciate your willingness to read their story and show your support in anyway you can. God Bless each one of you!
