The Bishop Family Relocation

Hello, our names are Thomas and Melena. This past week our family down on Pine Island in Florida fell victim to Hurricane Ian, and they have been told the island they live on is no longer sustainable and won't be anytime soon. The bridge leading to the island has been destroyed, and the Florida government has determined the island is no longer habitable. They must evacuate within the next 10 days, leaving behind their home and all their belongings. So many families will have to start over due to this natural disaster, which is truly heartbreaking.

This past year for my family has been challenging, starting with the passing of my Father in January and now my mother, two brothers, two sisters, two nieces and a nephew find themselves without a home. My wife, Melena, and I live in Massachusetts and are the only place to go for my family. With that comes a financial burden that we were not prepared to take on.

The funds would be used to fly myself down to Florida, rent a vehicle big enough to transport my family and what little belongings they have left, and pay for a fresh start in a new home. Which would include first, last, and security for an apartment to help get them back on their feet.

As I'm sure you can imagine, it is not easy to ask for financial assistance, but we've exhausted all possibilities and concluded that this is the best course of action for our family. Anything at all is a massive help and would go a long way to stitch our lives back together.
