"The Blegh is for the People"

If you have made it this far, you will already know that someone has trademarked the word "BLEGH" in both Germany and the US in recent weeks. The consequences have impacted many brands, individuals and bands who use the word BLEGH in their products and advertising.

Personally, a dozen or so of my listing were removed from my Etsy shop with no warning or opportunity to object after the trademark went live on the 30th of September 2024. This scenario is repeated across many different sellers and brands and may have wider consequences in the future.

BLEGH has been in common usage for many years and been used thousands of times across many different brands and bands. There is no legal reason why the trademark should have been allowed to go ahead in the first place.

Initially the purpose of this Go-Fundme page is to raise money to seek proper legal advice on the best course of action.

Then hopefully challenge the legality of both these trademarks and get them redacted and bring back BLEGH for the people.

Secondly, funds willing, and if necessary, I propose a counter trademark of the word BLEGH that anyone can use, other than the two companies who filed the trademarks in the first place.
