The Block, Saving Heroes In Crisis (SHIC)

The Block CIC, based in Liverpool, is a support organisation for former armed forces personnel at risk or currently homeless formed in October 2020 by local veterans.

Providing a safe space to ask for help, emergency accommodation and a wide range of signposting and support services that bridge a gap.

What’s offered at the Block

The Block offers emergency accommodation to help veterans get back on their feet during crisis, end of military service at the start of their transition or relationship breakdown it also offers emotional support, a safe haven, prevention from isolation, signposting to rehabilitation services , benefits advice, mental health services and holistic therapy retreats for veterans. The Block also provides long term accommodation support , workshops, funded employment courses and employment opportunities.

How is the Block Funded

The Block has a small Crisis Support Fund For Veterans, go fund me, sponsored charity jumps and corporate sponsors and donations keep the organisation ticking over.

Where the money will go.

Donations will go towards providing emergency accommodation for veterans at risk of homeless or currently homeless. essentials such as electricity, heating, food, clothing and washing and cleaning products.
