The Bolduc Family

Donation protected
With permission from the Bolduc family I wanted to start this go fund me to help support the Bolduc’s after the unexpected loss of their 7 week old son, Eli Arnold. No family should have to deal with the loss of a child and I wanted to try and help to take some of the stress off of the family during this difficult time. All donations will go to assisting the family with the cost of the funeral/memorial for baby Eli. Thank you so much.

”On the morning of July 7, 2023 we woke up to baby Eli extremely pale, struggling to breathe, and with rashes along his entire body. We attempted to feed him his morning bottle to which we couldn’t even get him to open his mouth. His breathing was so labored he was grunting with each and every breath. We immediately decided to take him to the doctor and switched our minds and called 911. EMS and fire showed up to our door and came in to examine Eli. He was immediately scooped up and transported to memorial children’s hospital in Savannah ga. Upon arrival, we were greeted by several doctors, nurses, and support staff who began to administer medications and oxygen and start IV and many other test to figure out why our sweet boy had become sick so suddenly. The doctor informed us we would be immediately transported up to the pediatric ICU for further tests and to be in close surveillance. Less than an hour later our baby received a spinal tap to test for what was suspected to be meningitis. Before they could conclude the spinal tap, the doctor decided it was time to intubate Eli and put in a feeding tube and central line for better access for labs and medications. We stepped out of the room for an hour while they completed all the lines. We were informed there would be many noises, lights, and alerts in the coming hours and days and that our sweet baby was extremely sick. The doctor came in to place a secondary line to monitor his blood pressure and during the procedure the nurse came and got us from the chapel in an extreme panic saying it wasn’t good. We ran back to the room and witnessed our baby receiving cpr as his heart had completely crashed. His vitals came back and we took a sigh of relief but we’re informed that if by some miracle he was going to make it, he would lose his left leg and both ears from loss of circulation. We stayed in the room with our boy while they tried to place his line again an hour later after receiving a blood transfusion and he coded yet again. The doctors and nurses were able to get a pulse back again. The doctor sat down with us and notified us that it was time to discuss how far we wanted them to go for our son and it may be time to consider removing supportive care. We spoke with each other through tear filled eyes and decided we couldn’t watch our son receive cpr again. We made the incredibly hard decision to withdraw care. When his heart started to slow again, the nurses came in and unhooked him from everything. We rocked in the chair with our sweet boy as he passed peacefully. Eli Arnold went home to heaven that night and the doctor knelt down beside us and listened to his heart when he informed us he was gone at 9:11 pm.”
