Let's get books to kids in need this Christmas!
Times are tough, and so many families are struggling to put food on the table or pay the bills this Christmas.
Children's books are often way down the list of priorities. Yet we urgently need to keep kids reading and tackle the literacy divide in this country. Redcar is in the top ten constituencies with the greatest literacy need.
Redcar Book Club (part of the Footprints in the Community charity) aims to help inspire a love of reading among the children of Redcar and Cleveland, to support their learning in schools and to help improve literacy rates.
For Christmas 2020 we are going to use every penny raised to deliver 3 books each to as many children of deprived backgrounds as we can. The more we raise, the more children we can support. Just £10 will get a pack of books for one child.
Please donate all you can so we can get book-packs out to deprived children across Redcar and Cleveland this Christmas!
