Help Tsedeq Ride Again!

Donation protected

Tsedeq Baker, skateboarder, cyclist, and an avid adventurer with a profound connection to the outdoors, was 23 years old when a devastating car accident paralyzed him from the waist down, costing him his ability to walk, ride, and do what he does best-- get lost in adventure. Tsedeq doesn't often ask for help, but right now, he needs your support.

Please help Tsedeq get his freedom back. Your donation will go directly toward his purchase of the Bowhead Reach , a handicap accessible, fully adaptive bike that will allow him to get outdoors and ride again.

Additional Info:

From as early as he can remember,  Tsedeq used outdoor adventure and physical activity as a way to navigate the world.  At 3 years old, he was riding his first bike. Only a few years later, he found himself completely enamored with skateboarding.  For Tsedeq, moving fast and losing himself outdoors was nothing short of pure magic-- it was when he was truly in his element.

Throughout his childhood, Tsedeq and his family moved around a lot. By age 11 he had bounced around several schools, lived in numerous states and countless homes--  his family's living situation was often complicated, but fortunately, Tsedeq was only ever a few steps away from something he could skate and the innate drive to be active. His pursuit of adventure kept him going despite any circumstance or obstacle thrown his way.

In 2016, Tsedeq was driving to a family reunion when a tragic car accident left him in critical condition. Tsedeq, lucky to be alive, was found with a broken neck, cracked skull, collapsed lung and in a coma. It took a month for him to regain consciousness, then another four months in the hospital relearning how to speak. Doctors believed Tsedeq would lose all movement from his neck down. However, he defied the odds; Tsedeq regained mobility from his waist up and recovered sensation all the way down to his toes.

July 30, 2021 marks the 5 year anniversary of the unconscionable event that forever changed Tsedeq’s life. While he no longer has the mobility he once had, nothing can stop his hunger for adventure and his deep love of the outdoors— in Tsedeq’s words, his desire “to bleed my extreme blood once again”.

Tsedeq found something that could give him a new sense of freedom— access to a world lost in the accident. He found the Bowhead Reach, an adaptive mountain bike designed for adventure and completely handicap accessible.  The Bowhead Reach will allow Tsedeq to reconnect with a space that was once so familiar and has since become so distant.

Extreme sports and outdoor adventure are what motivates Tsedeq; it’s not just how he navigated the world, it is his world. Having lost access to that world has taken a serious toll of Tsedeq's quality of life and mental health. Please help Tsedeq regain access to the part of his life that brought him the most joy-- his ability to ride.
