The Borboa-Varela family's medical support fund

Hello! My name is Kori, and I created this GoFund Me to support the Borboa-Varela family while Job Borboa battles through his fourth round of lymphoma now discovered in his brain. I haven't known Job (pronounced HOBE) long, but it's been very easy to know him well because of his genuine, kind and funny nature. Our sons play competitive soccer on the same team so we've spent plenty of time together during practice and game. (You feel me other sports parents? ;) ) Please, allow me the honor of introducing them:
Job is an extremely dedicated father and the hard-working owner of a tile refinishing business. He is a gentle giant, tall and strong while composed and reserved. Job is the first one to stand to greet you, offering a handshake and hello hug. When we moved to Tucson, we didn't know anyone. We showed up at the first practice and Job was quick to introduce himself, welcoming us into the soccer family. There wasn't much ado about it; it was an authentic, human interaction based on kindness. And every exchange I've had with Job since has reinforced my impression that he is a man that brings light to the world. I am truly lucky to call him a friend.
Janet is an equally supportive mom and special education teacher. She’s the mom shouting loud, positive cheers to the boys from the sidelines. We all appreciate her spirit! Janet is strong and beautiful inside and out, holding the family together while Job continues his treatment. She bears the weight of the stress, the uncertainty and the sadness so that her kids don't have to. Janet is devoted to the mental, emotional, spiritual and financial health of her family. Not being able to work while she cares for Job and singly manages the daily routines of the kids is burdensome for her in so many obvious ways. Yet she puts on a brave face and trusts that God has a plan while she does her part. She is an inspiration.
Aidan is their 12-year-old son who plays with our son, Moses. He is reserved, a little shy, and tall like his dad, but once you get him out on that soccer field he runs like the wind and has an easy connection with the soccer ball. Despite his natural talent and many goals and assists, Aidan displays little ego. This is a testament to his parents, Job and Janet, who continually instill team values and respect for others in their kids.
Camilla is their smiley 10-year-old daughter who is warm and precocious. She adds flair to the family, taking after her mom. She performs cartwheels on the sidelines during soccer and is an avid volleyball player and fashionista. Conversations are easy with Camilla because she is genuinely interested in others while secure in who she is. She is a lovely being.
Neither Job nor Janet have been able to work for the past couple months, and with Job's current situation, there is no prediction of when Janet will be able to go back to work in the future.
You can imagine how scary, devastating and claustrophobic this must feel, especially for people who have always made their own way and contributed to their community. When I asked Janet if I could help by putting this GoFundMe together, she hesitated not because she has too much pride, but because she just couldn't believe that their situation has gotten to this point.
Now is the time for the Borboa-Varela's to accept the help of their community. This is how our world becomes a better place - giving and receiving. It's a 2-way street, one filled with love and light when travelled without ego, fear and resentment.
Please join me in supporting the Borboa-Varela's to reach their goal of $30,000 so they can focus on healing.
