As a Black Transfemme full-time musician/DJ living in West Philly, I’ve been somewhat battling financial insecurity since December of last year.

Now, whether you’re a freelancer or working a regular 9-to-5, we all know how tough it is living paycheck to paycheck. And when those paychecks barely cover the basics—and don’t even come regularly—it’s a whole DIFFERENT type of struggle.

After months of inconsistent work and financially draining bookings, I’ve been finding it really hard to keep up with back rent, bills, and loans. I’m constantly forced to choose between basic needs, and it’s been very rough to stay afloat.

After several failed attempts to access food stamps, affordable transportation and other things -- After doing the math and tallying up everything needed to put me back to where i need to be, I’m raising $3,500 to regain stability and secure safe housing.

We all know how it goes when promoters fall through, or gigs don’t pay enough to tip the scales in your favor.

The lack of consistent, affirming employment has put me in a tight spot. Your support would mean the world to me, not just for my immediate needs but to help me keep pushing forward as a Black Trans woman in this world.
