Medical Expenses for Brantley & The Bowman’s

Donation protected
7 Month Update:
The last few weeks have been full of preparation, scheduling, and lots of decisions! Brantley’s first open heart surgery (Glenn Procedure) is scheduled for this Thursday, September 28th.
Glenn Procedure: To detach the superior vena cava from the top of the heart, and reattach it to the pulmonary artery to allow blood to flow from the top of the body directly to the lungs.
During a heart cath procedure he had a few weeks ago, they found a narrowing in his left pulmonary artery and they then performed a balloon procedure to stretch that artery. Even though this was done, his left pulmonary artery is not open enough and they will have to, in addition to the Glenn, do a left pulmonary artery angioplasty- a patch on the artery to get it back to normal.
Please keep Brantley and all the family in your thoughts and prayers as they will be back in the hospital for another stent of time and Ev will have to stay home. Being apart is never easy but she understands the basics and knows they are there to help her baby brother fix the “ouchy” on his heart.

My name is Emilee Schimpa and I’m creating this page to help Bailey and Brett with the medical bills that have come with Baby Brantley’s stay at Riley’s Children Hospital. Brantley is 1 in 10,000 who was born with a chronic congestive heart defect called Tricuspid Atresia or Right Hypo-plastic Heart Syndrome and Pulmonary Stenosis. This basically means his heart did not completely form on the right side preventing oxygenated blood from flowing through the lungs to the heart and vice versa. Baby Boy has been such a fighter over the last few weeks. Two days after his BT Shunt surgery, Brantley was showing signs of distress with his breathing and an X-Ray showed that his right lung had completely collapsed. After a long 7 days unknown and being intubated, sedated, and medicated, Brantley’s lung has pretty much completely re-inflated! Today him, momma, and dad got to move to step down unit and he is showing so much improvement!
While being in Indy with Brantley, Bailey and Brett have had to be away from their 2 year old daughter Everly who is absolutely over the moon about her little brother. She has been such a trooper through this whole process and can’t wait for them to be home.
If you can help in anyway, I know the Bowman Family will greatly, greatly appreciate it! Thank you all in advance!
