The Brasher Family

In December 2021, David and Benita Brasher fell ill to COVID, and eventually both were placed in the hospital for treatment. Benita was soon released, went home to recover, and David remained in the hospital for treatment.
After a little over a week, David was sent home to recover with his wife and be with his family. During this time, they suffered the loss of another family member and close friend, further challenging the return to normalcy and work.
On January 11, David ended up back in the ER due to persistently low oxygen levels. Two days later, he was placed in the ICU on a vent. There were many roller coasters and challenges that came in the coming days and it was an uphill battle. Benita and his family remained by his side for the fight. It seemed that recovery, not without its challenges, was on the horizon, however, on Thursday, January 27, the hospital placed David on comfort measures, and unfortunately, Friday the 28th, this wonderful angel left earth and went to his heavenly home.
Needless to say, the last 2 months have been a whirlwind of emotions and one tragedy after another. I wanted to create this GoFundMe (with permission granted from the family) in order to help alleviate any financial stress, whether it be making up for lost income, bills, expenses, etc., so that the Brasher family can focus on what is important in this tragic time and not have to stress over anything financially.
The Brasher family is near and dear to my heart. I have know them for almost 20 years. Brooke, David's daughter, has been one of my friends, more like a sister, for that time as well. David was a man that would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need, even if it was the last thing he owned. He was a staple and beloved member of his community and I can't even put into words what he meant to his family.
David is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Benita, of 30+ years, his daughter Brooke, and his two sons, Jay Hunter and Colton.
If you are able to, anything is appreciated in order to help this family. They are some of the most wonderful people I know and I hope that we can bless them with some sort of peace during this difficult time.
All proceeds will go to Benita and her children to help achieve this goal.
