The Breastfeeding Cafe, helping all parents with feeding Q's

Donation protected
The Breastfeeding Cafe CIC is a Community Interest Group, made up of a group of highly qualified, experienced breastfeeding supporters dedicated to helping parents reach their feeding goals.
The Breastfeeding Cafe was established in 2010, as a sociable drop-in, where breastfeeding parents could meet and get consistent, evidence-based support from Breastfeeding Counsellors and Lactation Consultants, over a cup of tea. We were funded through Clarendon Children's Centre for 10 years, until all of Surrey's Children's Centres were closed.

Tricia, Mary and Jenny were determined to continue providing quality breastfeeding support so kept the service going voluntarily, giving up their time for free, every week to help new parents.  When Covid restrictions prevented us meeting face to face we took the Breastfeeding Cafe online, meeting over Zoom, supporting many parents with breastfeeding challenges.
In January 2021 we established a Community Interest Company (a not-for-profit organisation) so that we could apply for funding to continue our work.
We currently run 2 drop-ins; an in person drop-in at Clarendon Family Centre in Ashford and a weekly drop-in overZoom.
Our in-person drop-in is greatly appreciated by the parents who attend, but we saw huge benefits in continuing to offer an online drop-in.  This way we could meet new mothers in their own homes; we can support parents of very tiny babies, those who have given birth by cesarean, those who don't drive or find travelling by public transport difficult with a little one, or those who simply find it easier to access our support from home.   (Recent research has shown that high quality breastfeeding support is as effective by video as in person).

We would like to extend our reach and support more parents, but we need your help.
The cost of running a drop-in is £35/hour.  An individual breastfeeding consultation over Zoom costs £25.  Your donation, however small, will help us to support a new mother to achieve her feeding goal.
Thank you
