The Bryant Family Re-Build Their Home

Following the severe storm flooding in San Diego, the Bryant family suffered a complete loss of their belongings in their home. The waters came up quickly, and Karina and 10-year old son, Gabriel, came home to 4 feet of water standing in and around their home. Karina was able to manage to get into her home to save the lives of her animals and bring them to safety.

She is now staying with friends as she begins to sort out what's left in her home. All of her furniture and appliances have been destroyed by the water. Couches, beds, refrigerator, and stove have all been ruined completely. All the dry wall had to be stripped from her house in order to prevent mold and in an attempt to treat the infrastructure from further damage. Many of her personal belongings, clothes, and those of her son have also been destroyed beyond salvation.

Karina is a special education teacher in San Diego Unified school district, working with students that have special needs in order to support herself and her family. Her 84-year old mother is the owner of her home and the insurance they have does not cover the kinds of damages caused by flooding. Her personal funds are limited at this time as she is just coming out of a lengthy divorce involving a custody battle.
