The Buitron Family

Hi. We are friends of the Buitron family setting out on a mission to raise funds immediately upon finding out about Bri’s diagnosis of Stage 4 cancer.
This family finds themselves facing the unthinkable. Imagine you’re living the dream, happily married with 2 children. Lilly who is an amazing 7-year-old with the sass of a 15-year-old. Lilly loves to play Nintendo Switch, soccer and reading. She is currently reading at a 3rd grade reading level. She loves Science and of course Pokemon! Then there is Max, an active 10-month-old who is curious about everything and is growing into his own little personality.
Let me introduce you to Lilly and Max's mom and dad, Brittany and Alex Buitron. Brittany and Alex met in the workplace in 2011 bonding over candy, however Alex would say it was the dress Brittany was wearing that day. Alex works in aircraft maintenance and Brittany took a job in Real Estate so she could have a more flexible schedule with the kids. Alex and Brittany have worked hard to get where they are today. Homeowners, parents and the day to day of just being adults.
In December of 2021 Brittany became ill and after lots of doctor's appointments, testing and being misdiagnosed, Brittany has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer that has spread to other parts of her body. Brittany is a non-smoker and always has been so you can imagine how this comes as a shock.
Let me first explain that we are planning a four-stage campaign. This will ensure that the Buitron’s are free to focus on the most important aspect in life, their family! Brittany and Alex need to be able continue to run their household with a normal routine, everyone knows how important this is when dealing with young children.
Phase 1:
Address immediate needs.
Brittany’s medication is extremely expensive and as we all know insurance only gets you so far before they cut you off, then Brittany and Alex waste precious time and energy worrying about how to keep Brittany healthy. Side effects from the medication that Brittany is on causes her to have other needs as well. It is also extremely important that all their utilities and other expenses are being met.
Phase 2:
During this phase of our campaign for the Buitron family we will take care of Lilly and Max’s needs.
We want to ensure that Max’s daycare continues to be provided so Brittany is free to have an open schedule for appointments. Lilly is an active 7-year-old that loves to play soccer as we stated above. We want Lilly to continue her journey for her love of sports and be able to cover any costs she will incur. We would also like to cover any expenses that may come up during this time for Lilly and Max.
Phase 3:
Phase 3 will be used for an emergency fund. Money we will put aside for those times when the car needs new tires or brakes, the refrigerator stops working or repairs on the home. These unexpected expenses always happen at the most inconvenient times. These emergency funds will be there as well if Brittany remains unable to work to cover the daily expenses of life.
Phase 4:
100% of phase 4 campaign funds will go into a trust for Lilly and Max. These funds will be held for Lilly and Max’s present needs and future needs. It is important to us as a community that Lilly and Max are afforded all the same opportunities as other children.
We know all of you who read this will want to be kept updated and help in any way you can, so we made it easy. There is a link to Caring Bridge so you can see updates on this beautiful family!
This link not only provides you with information on the family, but it also allows you to schedule time with them. Caring Bridge allows the family to interact with you and you to interact with them. You can schedule visits, bring a meal, offer your free time to help with yard work, cleaning, laundry and other day to day tasks that may need to be done. Organize a shopping trip to the grocery store or even get Brittany to an appointment. Caring Bridge keeps us all connected and allows the family and friends of the Buitron family to see where they are needed.
Lastly, we ask that you share this with all your friends and family, make a phone call or send an email/text to that one person that you know has a servant’s heart. Each one of us has the ability to touch this family in a positive way.
Thank you for sharing your positive energy, loving hearts, caring spirits and for taking a part in this campaign to enrich the lives of the Buitron family.
Love and Blessings to you all,
The Buitron Families Melting Pot of Friends and Family!
