Hello Dog Fans…..
This purpose of The Bulldog Project is to conserve the history of our beloved Mount Vernon Basketball program, by converting Coach Fraser’s and Coach Swanson’s dusty old VHS collection into a digital format that we can all enjoy online.
The money raised will be used to pay for said conversion, by a company to be determined. I have estimated the cost of this to be around $10-$15 per tape. If we consider converting each season starting in 1986 (sorry old timers, your reel-to-reel’s are probably not going to make the cut any more than your belted shorts would!) with an average of around 25 games per season, we’re talking about $400-$500 per season to convert.
Once converted, each game will be uploaded to YouTube on a year to be created channel dedicated to Bulldog Basketball.
I’m calling on the Sons and Daughters of Mount Vernon to help this cause, so that we may all enjoy (or cringe at) ours and our friends’ past lives as Bulldog fans and players.
In order to make this a true communal project, I’m capping individual donations at $100 per person, and hoping that we garner enough support to make this a project that continues on for many seasons into the future, forever linking future and past generations together.
I take great pride and even greater responsibility in making this happen. And i look forward to making it possible for all of us to relive a little, brag a little, smile a little, and above all, share our cherished memories and accomplishments together.
A history forgotten is a history never lived. Together, let’s make sure that history never forgets the name….
Bulldogs.
I give you, The Bulldog Project
