The Burt Family

Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support as Katie and Callie handle the difficult road ahead.
Tony was diagnosed with cancer when Katie was 6 months pregnant and for the past 3 years has courageously fought through unimaginable treatment: 10+ surgeries, radiation and 3 years' worth of chemo. Unfortunately, this fall we learned the cancer spread where it is no longer curable. On November 20th, Tony passed away in his sleep surrounded by so many people he loved.
Katie has financially supported the family for the last three years - through new motherhood and Tony's treatment all during COVID. Sadly, she recently was part of a mass layoff at Twilio. Not only are they facing a tough chapter with end-of-life care, they've also weathered a massive financial blow during an already challenging time.
To know Tony Burt is the gift of a lifetime; he’s saved us all from an ordinary life. As the most universally loved person in this world, he’s taught and continues to teach us how to truly live and love. To dream big and make adventure and fun the utmost priority. To treat the ones you love with the utmost respect and to always lead with integrity. He’s the person who can shut down the dance floor with the worm, can bring you to tears with his hilarious stories and always always always is the kindest and most generous person in the room. He has touched the lives of so many and will continue to be a beacon of inspiration and light for everyone in his orbit.
While their love story will never be fully complete, they did all the big things in life they wanted to do together. They made their family, moved into their dream home and even quit to travel the world and live a retired life in 2018 before Callie was born.
This money will be used for a variety of things to provide comfort and financial support to the Burt’s for the difficult road ahead. While our time with him will never be enough, let’s show Katie and Callie how much we love and support them.
