Help support Preston Foster's recovery
Donation protected
On December 30th, 2023 Preston Foster, the son of Darby and Carrie Callahan, was involved in an accident that left him with severe injuries. He has since been in Research hospital in Kansas City undergoing treatment in the ICU for a broken neck, severed spine, collapsed lungs, skull and face fractures and grade 3 brain damage. These injuries will have a permanent effect on his life and the recovery path will be long and difficult. Preston will be transferred to a more well equipped recovery facility, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, in Lincoln Nebraska this week. This move will serve as a blessing for his health and recovery but presents a significant financial challenge to the family.
Preston's parents, Darby and Carrie Callahan, are both wonderful upbeat people that are dedicated to their family and work hard every day to support it. They are both happily employed at the Holman Manufacturing and Distribution facility in Kansas City. Darby has been employed there for over 12 years and has always been a very positive and uplifting influence to his coworkers. Carrie is new to the team, but fitting into the culture well. They have not asked for, but need our help and support in this trying time. This Go-Fund Me campaign is intended to serve the family on two fronts. We need to help with expenses related to missed time and travel to support Preston in Nebraska as well the cost of retro-fitting the home for Preston's return to accommodate the use of a wheel chair.
As you can imagine, this tragedy represents some of the worst fears a parent can be faced with. The best and most impactful support we can provide at this time is to ease the financial burden faced by the family as they navigate Preston's recovery. Any and all support you can provide is greatly appreciated and sorely needed.
