The Canada "EH" Team (Emergent Help) Ukraine

Hello, my name is Chad McFarland and I'm the lead organizer of a three person Canadian team on the ground in Ukraine providing humanitarian relief including the purchasing of medical supplies and equipment, transportation for refugees and volunteers from Poland into Ukraine and the movement of supplies amd people around Ukraine.

 

We are raising funds to support our efforts here as we have been on the ground doing humanitarian work for well over a month now.

 

Funds will be used for the maintenance and fuel of the van we purchased to move supplies and people around Ukraine; for the purchase of medical supplies, food, and other humanitarian aid and equipment; and any other costs associated with the humanitarian relief efforts of operating in Ukraine and Poland.

 

We have been operating in Ukraine for over a month and have met so many amazing people and made many contacts with other NGO's working all over Poland and Ukraine. These contacts have allowed us to support a wide variety of operations, from transporting volunteers, food, water, medical supplies, and refugees into and out of Ukraine. 

As a small mobile response service we are able to choose a mission and quickly respond to the ever changing needs on the ground.

The Team:

Ian Matheson: Canadian provincial peace officer from British Columbia. First on the ground in Poland on March 23rd and began helping by working at the Medyka, Poland border crossing handing out food to refugees as they entered Poland. Ian scouted out how best we could operate to help Ukraine and advised what was needed for the rest of the team to come over.

Chad McFarland: Team Organizer - Canadian federal peace officer from Manitoba. Chad has been networking with a multitude of government and non-governmental organizations to increase the effectiveness of transport and logistics for the team in Ukraine.

Pedro Bedard: Firefighter / medic, heavy equipment operator. Pedro has been in country working with the team to transport volunteers and refugees and working contacts to secure supplies in Poland for the team to take into Ukraine.

 

The team has substantively been supporting operations via personal finances primarily. We have all purchased and paid for our own flights, meals, and accommodations up to this point. But we need your help now to continue operating in Ukraine.

 

Your support will go directly to helping wounded and sick men, women, and children in Ukraine. Providing food and medicine to hard hit areas of the war and directly saving lives.

 

We will provide consistent updates on our missions and projects as they are completed and do our best to let donors know exactly what their money has done to support the people of Ukraine.
