The Caruthers Cemetery Restoration Project
Donation protected
I recently discovered that there is a abandoned cemetery near my home. The cover picture is what the cemetery looked like when I learned it was there. Please watch the video to see what it looks like today and we have a long way to go. In this cemetery are some of the descendants of the first settlers to Tennessee. The Curothers family along with the Fletcher family. The New England Historic Cemetery Restoration Project a 501 c3 has offered to help me clean this cemetery along with a few local people from the local Historical Society. I am trying to raise funds to help cover their expenses for coming down to Tn to help with this project. ALL funds will collected will go to them for their help in this job. When learning of the cemetery I thought how sad it was that no one cared about these people. They shouldn't be forgotten and I believe the dead deserve a nice respectable resting place. Town records do not show who owns the property and I was given the green light to go and clean it up. To date I have paid out about $500.00 to some of the homeless people in my community to help me. But I do not have an endless supply of money. So I am reaching out for help from community leaders and not having much luck there. So I have turned to Go Fund me. If you feel like I do that the dead deserve a nice clean resting place and shouldn't be forgotten I implore you to help. Give what ever you can. The crew from Ct will be here to do the rehab on April 17th 2021. Please help I can't do it alone. Thank you for taking your time to read this and for your donation in advance.
