Mission:
The Centennial Expedition is a group of six canoeists planning to complete an expedition traversing across three provinces in Northern Canada during the summer of 2024. Our aim is to highlight the importance of seeking unrestricted outdoor access and adventure in an increasingly urban world, and to underline the need to protect such a precious resource in its currently delicate and changing state.

Our team feels a sense of urgency -- we want to document the rapidly changing arctic. The footage we collect over the summer of 2024 may show a significantly different landscape than what the Arctic might be in even just a couple of summers from now.
Impact:
We hope to inspire youth and adults in our industrialized world to protect and appreciate natural areas and seek out adventure and nature in our industrialized world.
We intend to create a documentary with the following themes:
- Climate change's impact on the Northern tundra
- Accessing the outdoors in an increasingly urbanized world
- The life-long impact of youth programs on adult lives.
This documentary will be submitted to festivals and shared as broadly as possible.
Support and Need:
We have estimated the Centennial Expedition to cost $70,000.
The bulk of the funding will come from expedition grants, and equipment sponsorships. We will finalize our funding request status in March, 2024.
Each member of the canoe trip is also making a significant financial contribution.
This gofundme campaign seeks to fund the gap of $9,500 with individual sponsorship. Funders’ names (with permission) will be included in the documentary credits and on the website. You will be helping to elevate one story of the impact of climate change. You will help inspire youth to seek time in nature and aspire to a life infused with adventure. If you do not wish to be listed as a sponsor, please donate as “anonymous”.
If our grant funding does not come through and we are not able to afford this canoe expedition, we will refund 100% of all gofundme sponsorship.
