The Champ Films Business Set Up

Hello. Thank you for looking at this GoFundMe campaign. My Name is Tom and like everyone, Covid came along & all my plans went out of the window. However, during lockdown 1, I decided I would start writing a film script as writing is always something I loved to do. Once I started writing, I couldn't stop! I therefore decided I was going to set up a Film Production Company in order to bring the scripts I've written alive.
Fast forward to today & I've been setting up a full business plan to take The Champ Films forward. First though, here is what I have done already;
1) I researched whether there was a demand for what I was writing and was pleased to see there was.
2) I began to network within the film industry, @TheChampFilms on Twitter became our main networking location & so I focused on that.
3) I began to turn our contacts into potential future film making partners in order to push forward on my ambitious film making goals.
4) I made the scripts I have written available to people within the film making industry. The feedback, both positive & negative has been absolutely priceless in improving the content of what I have written.
5) I made the decision to go for it & set up this GoFundMe campaign!
This has been an exciting journey so far & I have already met some amazing people who have provided so much support. Already, I am pleased to say that there are a large number of professionally trained actors who want to work on the scripts I have written as well as Production Companies who are interested in what I have written so far.
So, why is a GoFundMe campaign necessary? The truth is, this is a difficult industry to break into. Nearly everyone I have spoken to has said this. I accept the situation for what it is however and I'm still willing to give it a go.
Therefore, the donations received will be used to break into the business. The donations will be put towards funding films that I have already written scripts for. I have short films & full feature film scripts already completed & ready to go with many more already planned & outlined.
I've also planned pilot episodes for a couple of new TV series as this market has seen so much growth. In fact, I've already began to adapt a feature film script I have written into a TV series as well just to keep as many options open as possible.
Anything that is produced will be produced to the highest standard that can be afforded and will be showcased wherever possible. This could be at various Festivals throughout the world, again where donations will be used to pay the various entry fees.
This has the added benefit of not only allowing me to make more contacts from the Festivals themselves, but to also build professional working relationships with Camera Operators, Sound Technicians, Editors etc, all of which the donations will help pay for their time and skill.
If this plan is successful and I am able to move to a full Film Production set up, the donations will also be used to set up and maintain a website as well as to create an instantly recognisable company logo. The donations will also go towards creating a 5 - 10 second clip to be shown at the start of each film. This, will help the company in all of it's marketing once it has been established.
So, if you are still reading (I've babbled on a lot I know!), I'd just like to tell you about the sort of content I would like to produce. I have written a wide variety of scripts so far across many different genres such as Crime, Horror, Action, Fantasy & Drama.
With so much undiscovered acting talent out there, I have written roles across all age ranges with a few in particular creating a lot of interest online. A good example of this would be the strong female leads I have written as well as the active, action type roles for actors aged 40 & over.
My idea was to write scripts that could be filmed on various budgets. The basic plan is to start off small & not be overambitious but with each new film, try to raise the budget and be more ambitious with the content. In simple terms something like this,
Film 1 - Budget £5000.
Film 2 - Budget £8000.
Film 3 - Budget £12000.
And so on.
I will look to reinvest any profit made back into the business to allow us to grow and to produce more content as well.
