The Champijons

We are a collective group of friends and family rallying behind our hero Jon Sherling, who is in the midst of a battle with Cancer. The news came suddenly after a family holiday in December was cut short by Jon suffering from headaches and dizziness. He was quickly rushed back to NYC for surgery to remove a metastasized tumor on the brain and subsequently diagnosed with Stage 4 Thymic Carcinoma. He has since undergone radiosurgery and currently having intensive chemotherapy treatment every two weeks.

As we all know, medical expenses and general day-to-day living in NY are extortionate. 'The Champijons' want to raise as many funds as possible to alleviate some of the pressure from the Sherlings' lives and raise awareness of such a rare cancer. Any leftover funds will be donated to a charity of the Sherlings' choice.

A squad of his friends, 'The Champijons' is took part in a Spartan Race on April 29th, 2023 to show how strong the support behind him is as he continues his fight. We thank EVERYONE for their donations.

A new Champijon has entered the arena!! Bouke Boersma will run from Canada to NYC in the first week of September. This is about 2 Marathons per day for a total of 399 Miles starting in Rouses Point on the Canadian border, crossing the Adirondacks with its ancient forests and waterfalls, the Hudson Valley and ending in Manhattan at Bowling Green (in 1626, it was there that the Dutch Governer Peter Minuit Purchased Manhattan from the Lenape Indians for about $24 worth if merchandise). He will follow the Empire State Trail, the Champlain Valley Trail and the Hudson Valley Greenway Trail,
