The Chauvot Family Fund
Donation protected
As many of you know, the Chauvot family was involved in a bad accident late Friday night, early Saturday morning, while trying to evacuate Florida. Cory, and active member of the US Navy, and wife Jenni, witnessed a wreck, so got out of the car to try to help. As they were standing in front of their car, another car hit theirs from behind. The car hit Cory and threw him into the highway. Then the car pinned Jenni against the guardrail. Cory's injuries are severe; he had a severed aorta, but had a stent put in. He is conscious and responsive. Jenni is awake and responsive now, but all of the bones and ligaments in her legs were crushed or broken. The back of her legs were ripped open by the guardrails. She has several other broken bones that will require many surgeries. She'll likely be in the hospital for months. Jackson, almost 2 months old, is on life support, and his prognosis isn't good at this point. John and Ava, ages 4 and 2, are doing well. Their home is in South Florida and we are unsure what damage has or will be done once Hurricane Irma moves through. At this point, we don't know specific needs, but know that between medical bills, monthly bills, personal needs for them and the children, and any expenses due to damage of the hurricane could be great. It's going to be a hard few months for them, and any contribution will be helpful!
