The Chequers, Heaverham

Hi all,

It feels a little bit weird doing this, but after 'lockdown' and the troubles in hospitality, we have to admit a little defeat. This time last year we might have survived with a slightly slower trade but the increase in costs (utilities, food and drinks) means that things aren't going so well, for hospitality especially.

As Sunday visitors to The Chequers, you might be familiar with a bustling pub serving up great roast dinners. If you pop in earlier in the week you'll know that sometimes you might be the only face we see that day.

We are trying our best to entice you in, offering speciality food nights, book clubs, quiz nights, board games and darts but it doesn't always work. We're not making ends meet.

So, here we are asking for a little help. Maybe you can show your support by popping into The Chequers for a nibble or a drink. Maybe you can come along to one of our events, or book our beautiful barn for your next social event. Maybe you can spare a few quid and donate to this page.

We're not asking for money for nothing. We are planning to take on some challenges to earn it. These will be posted on our social media, or we'll send updates in our emails. If you have any suggestions for something you'd like to see us do, please let us know. We are a community pub after all!

All money raised will go back into the pub, paying the bills and, hopefully, maintaining and improving it so that you can all keep enjoying visiting The Chequers!
