The Christi Kicks Cancer Fund
Donation protected
As most of you know, Christi Hamrick was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2023 and was quickly scheduled for surgery at VCU. Since then, the world has turned upside down for her, her husband, Ben, and their four boys. TODAY (8/3/2023) seven months later, she finished the last treatment of her grueling chemotherapy regiment: Six rounds of three consecutive days (8hr, 8hr, 4hr) with each round only a few weeks apart.
But now, with chemo behind them (praise God!), Ben and Christi continue to navigate their "new normal". This means their calendar will be filled with daily radiation treatments then PET scans. Then, the doctors told her she would need PET scans every three months for three years, and then every six months after that. The Hamrick family still has a long road ahead of them.
Christi handled the initial inundation of doctors appointments, treatment plans and uncertainty with a level of grace we have yet to see displayed anywhere in life. She handled surgery like a champ and she met each chemo treatment and follow-up visit with courage and bravery... and humor!
Most significantly, Christi has gracefully and gratefully endured the most difficult part of all: LETTING PEOPLE HELP HER. Yes, if you know Christi, you know of her incredible ability to serve, to help, and to plan... and you ALSO know how hard it is for her to ask for help.
So, as she begins this next phase of treatment, let's give her all the help she'll never ask for: A laundry service, a housekeeper, a meal delivery plan, and a childcare fund for a year. Your donations will go a long way in allowing Christi and fam to spend time together and not on the mundane chores of daily life. Funds will also help cover the astronomical cost of cancer treatments.
We would like to add that Christi has an army of prayer warriors and a long line of people who have already done SO much for her and her family - THANK YOU!! You are a blessing and a gift!
With Abundant Blessings,
