The City Soul Bus was Robbed & Needs Your Help!

**UPDATE**
We are thrilled to announce that thanks to our incredible rave fam, we’ve hit our initial $20k target! Words fail to capture the level of gratitude we are feeling right now. When we launched our fundraising campaign on Monday, we were optimistic to reach our goal, but certainly never could have foreseen reaching it within 25 hours. This is a true testament to the tightly knit raving community we are so proud to be a part of.
Hitting this milestone allows us to fully replace the stolen DJ/sound equipment, including all our CDJs, the mixer, both 15” powered speakers, both 18” subwoofers and our generator. Thank you for your unwavering support and generosity. We are extremely humbled, to say the very least.
There are two more essential pieces to finishing this puzzle, which are repairing the bus itself and enhancing our security measures to both protect our community’s investment and to guarantee this nightmare never happens again. To cover these vital expenses, which include repairing damages to the bus, necessary hydraulics restoration, overall safety reinforcement, and secure parking, we’re setting a new goal of $30k. Every extra dollar ensures a quick return to our beloved street parties as well as a safer, more resilient future for us all.
Your continued support means the absolute world to us. Thank you for believing in our mission. Together, we will keep the culture alive.
**ORIGINAL POST**
On Thursday, March 14th, we discovered the City Soul bus was robbed. The perpetrators took all of our DJ + sound equipment (three CDJs, a mixer, two 15" powered speakers and two 18" subwoofers), along with other essential tools to help the bus function on the day to day.
With only 2 days until our biggest Riddim Bus event yet, our team acted swiftly to source all the necessary DJ/sound equipment. We would like to take a moment to thank all those who contributed to help make Saturday's event a major success despite such a massive set back.
For those of you who do not know, City Soul's mission is to bring as many free street parties to the people of New York City as possible, while embodying diversity, inclusion, and equality. Since we started in 2020 as a grassroots passion project, City Soul has grown into a respected and beloved community force by showcasing the talents of local DJs and performers, and partnering with established names in NYC nightlife, like Elsewhere, Soul in the Horn, Brooklyn Monarch, SILO, Jupiter Disco, and House of Yes. Our weekly street parties occur every Saturday through the warmer months to bring our dance community together without having the stress of spending money on the rising costs of a night out in NYC.
While many people know us as the mini school bus from the Skrillex, Four Tet and Fred again.. B3B in Times Square last year , we have had many notable artists grace our stage to include: BLOND:ISH, Riva Starr, Ghastly, Kasbo, Machinedrum, Degs, Nitepunk, Wavedash, Baauer, Saka, Blossom, YOOKiE, Karmina Dai, Hatiras, Sebb Junior, Jacques Greene, Steller, GorillaT, INFEKT, Mary Droppinz, Kush Jones, Anna Morgan, Reid Speed, Dance System, Bianca Oblivion, Mojave Grey, Nosaj Thing, Nikki Nair, QRTR, BRUX, FaltyDL, Automhate, Sqishi, Sinistarr, Jubilee, Storyboard, Codd Dubz, VKTM, Sanzu, and many more. We pride ourselves in throwing events with DJs who are pushing the boundaries of electronic dance music, rather than throwing parties that focus on one or two genres. It's one of the many reasons why City Soul is so unique.
To say we are disheartened is an immense understatement, but we have hope that our dance community will come together to support us in this true time of need. Funds raised will go toward replacing the stolen equipment, tools, necessary repairs to the bus itself, and parking in a secure location moving forward. Please donate what you can. If you cannot contribute monetarily, sharing our GoFundMe link far and wide will help just as much! Thank you for being a part of our story; we wouldn't exist without you.
