The Clambassador's Cedar Key Recovery Fund

Hundreds of kind people have been reaching out to me every day asking how they can help the island of Cedar Key, Florida recover from Hurricane Helene. The Clambassador's Cedar Key Recovery Fund will send 100% of its donations directly to the people of the island that are falling through the cracks of traditional aid programs.

The three primary areas of help are:

1) Students at the Cedar Key School that have lost their homes and belongings.

2) Lower-income and employment-displaced islanders in immediate financial peril

3) Uninsured islanders rebuilding their homes

The Clambassador will identify areas of need and then bring a proposed donation plan to a committee of three town leaders for approval. Once approved, the funds will go directly to individuals to help with their recovery.

The Clambassador's Cedar Key Recovery Fund is a way to make an immediate difference in the lives of people in serious need.

To get the ball rolling, the Clambassador has started the campaign with $1,000 of his own money. Please join the campaign if you feel so led and if you are able.

Campaign Specifics:

Who I am/My relationship to the beneficiariies: My name is MIchael Presley Bobbitt. I live on E Street in Cedar Key, Florida. I am a community activist in Cedar Key that organizes the annual Cedar Key Shark Swim to benefit the Cedar Key School. (www.cedarkeysharkswim.com).

How beneficiaries are determined: In coordination with my team, as well as the Cedar Key Food Pantry, who is also making cash grants to storm victims, lower-income residents and others that are determined to be falling through the cracks of traditional hurricance aid programs will be selected for $1,000 recvery grants.

How funds will be dispersed: $1,000 grants will be awarded to each recipient. Checks, Cashapp, or Venmo will be utilized, depending on the receipients preference.

All funds will be distributed withing 3 days of the campaign's end and funding.
