The Closet #clothesforpatients

Hi my name is Clare, and I'm raising funds for a hospital based , volunteer led clothing bank where I work in Ashford, Kent, called The Closet.

The project has been active for 6 years already and over the years we have had many kind donations of both money and clothes, from friends, family, colleagues, and various local and national businesses.

The money that we hope to raise will help purchase much needed new items of clothing and toiletries that we can gift to our patients on the ward, or on discharge, if they have nothing of their own, or no friends or family to assist them.

Being discharged from hospital in a nightshirt or pyjamas is not a dignified experience , so a fresh teeshirt, pair of joggers, nice skirt and blouse, or just a fresh set of underwear, can make that transition feel a lot more pleasant and less stressful.

We have been able to provide lots of people with necessary things over the years, and we continue to collect kind donations of pre-loved clothes. Things like underwear and footwear always need to be new/unworn to adhere to strict infection and control ideals.

Any small amount of money will go a long way, and will make all the difference to someone's day.
