The Colgan Family

Jimmy and Brittany Colgan welcomed their son Parker on September 14th, 2020 at Morgan Stanely's Childrens Hospital of New York. When Parker was born, he immediately went to the NICU and underwent two open heart surgeries at 2 and 4 weeks old. He carries a genetic disorder called Alagilles syndrome and has a diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot with an absent pulmonary valve, bronchomalacia as well as liver disease. He fought for 92 days in the NICU recovering from his heart surgeries, overcoming a collapsed left lung, and a severe chest infection. During all of this- Jimmy and Brittany were not allowed in the NICU together and had to take turns driving back and forth to the city to be with Parker. Parker came home just in time for his first Christmas.

The beginning of 2022 started off great. Parker became the best big brother to Hudson, he raised the 3rd highest donation for the March of Dimes in the Hudson Valley, and started Pre K. In October, after getting regular labs done to check on his liver functions, the Colgans got news that Parker would need a liver transplant due to his liver condition. Brittany immediately began testing to determine if she was a match and by December she got the go ahead to be Parker's live living donor.

During Parker's last set of testing before scheduling his liver transplant, he needed to get a chest CT done to make sure his heart and lungs were strong enough for surgery. Unfortunately, more bad news unfolded and Parker was diagnosed with an aneurysm in his Left Pulmonary Artery and a crushed left bronchus that needed a surgery repair along with a valve upgrade.

Parker underwent open heart surgery on March 31, 2023 that was successful. He was able to get a complete repair. As of now, his heart is in excellent condition and both of his lungs are working great! However, he will need to recover before he can get his liver transplant done, hopefully sometime this summer.

Jimmy and Brittany have been on unpaid leave from work to be there for Parker as well as caring for Hudson. Any donations made will go towards making sure the Colgans can provide for their children and pay their exorbitant medical bills. They have always been so quick to help others that now it's time for us to help them!! Parker has proven that he is a warrior, as well as his mother, who will be donating her liver to her baby boy. If there is ever a time to come together for a family, it is now!
