The Classic Journey. For younger readers or those who want something that feels nostalgic and timeless.

Paladin Order:

1-5,8,6-7

The path of protection and destiny. This path is the same as Wizard but Violet is after Amber. Strong foundation with a mythic intermission midway.

Knight Order:

6,1-5,8,7

The Tragic Hero’s Path. Begin with a modern retelling of The Tain. 200 Split pov chapters between two brothers turned mortal nemeses. For readers who want to start with moral ambiguity and tales of both destruction and redemption.

Sorceress Order:

8,1-7

Follow the life of Morgan le Fay from her youth tracing her life for 40 years all through her rise and turn to darkness. For readers who want to step directly into the mythic. But be warned this starts with the most challenging book. Not for inexperienced readers.

Ghost Order:

5,1,3,4,6,8,7,2

The nonlinear emotional spiral. Follow each of the four main characters starting with Milo as you read books in sets of POVs.

Lich Order:

The First Fantasy (books 1-4): The story of champions, realms, and choice. A classic portal fantasy. And reimagining of myth primarily Arthurian legend.

The Last Fantasy (books 5-8): This is the end of magic itself. Written entirely backwards the last line of every chapter being the title of that chapter written first the first line of the chapter written last. This is the last fantasy series we will write. Or at least the last you will need. Only the brave need apply.

This is not just a series…. it’s a conclusion. A eulogy. An ode to what fantasy was and a redefinition of what it can be.

Fantasy is dead.

I've come to write its eulogy.

Consider this a mythic autopsy.

My influences:

Italo Calvino, Jorge Luis Borges, JB Priestley, ER Eddison, and other forgotten myths.

Who am I to say such audacious things?

My name is not important.

Here is all you need to know:

I went to school to be an English professor I even worked on a curriculum for years, but I walked away from the world of academic education and pivoted into video game design. You can call me 'the professor who never was' if you like.

These are not fantasy novels.

This is a eulogy, a declaration of war, and a tuition fee for those willing to step into The Spectrum.

This is not entertainment.

This dear reader, is an advanced literary curriculum I have honed and planned for the past 12 years.

My voice is like nothing you’ve ever read because it’s built on anger, ambition, and a 20 year vendetta against fantasy itself.

This curriculum is about myth and fantasy and how the two are and have always been mutually exclusive.

This curriculum will highlight the historical erasure of myth by fantasy that began among a group of friends and their mentor in the Inklings club at Oxford nearly a hundred years ago.

Fantasy is of the written tradition. Myth has always been of the oral tradition. Many voices of myth have been all but forgotten in the tides of time. ER Eddison perhaps most of all. He was in my opinion the last great bastion of myth.

I have worked over the past ~10 years on AAA titles such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings and other games you've never heard of. It has been my day job to create sprawling long form narratives in your favorite fantasy IPs for the past decade. Forgive my audacity, but I've been taking notes.

All of these books were written at a minimum of 10,000 words a day current maximum of 20,000 words a day. Yes, really.

I may not be the best writer in the world, in fact I'm sure I'm not. But I can guarantee I'm the hardest working. I have been writing at 5x the industry standard speed daily and have not missed a day in the past 4 months.

The finished project will be roughly one million words. One million in less than a year. That's the length of the entire Harry Potter series, which took Rowling 17 years. I'm calling my shot. If the Kickstarter funds by March 3rd at 11:11pm, then your wish is my command. You can have the books in your hands this year and we can move on from the world's oldest lie.

Chapter 333: The Worm Ouroboros

....here, the worm Ouroboros is knocking upon infinity's door.

That great serpent Eternity

with all its scales the size of mountains

its thousand talons dripping

ever dripping with blood and honey.

Its talons

knocking

ever more.

That great serpent Ouroboros

its scales all the thousand thousand colors of the holy holy Aurora Boros….

The truest tales always eat themselves.

Can you hear the humming like that of a songbird? Like that of a myth laid out to die.

Can you hear its colorless voice? Not unlike that of the raven.

Or the magpie.

Can you hear the snake’s voice echoing through the broken trees, the crimson tears in that indigo sky?

Do you still hear that serpentine voice whistling through the trees?

(yes.... of course you do....)

Can you hear its hisses and its talons rattling from the other side of that black and lavender door?

Can you hear that dragon Crimson laughing even now?

Do you see Amber's twenty-nine gaping mouths and fifty-eight glistening eyes all the colors of blood and honey hunting you through the dark?

Can you hear the wind, dear reader?

The final breeze,

dancing the way every noose ever does.

The only colorless wind.

The Hangman's Gale.

You should know its voice from those of all the other thousand winds of pestilence and of change. All their multicolored wings, seraphim, like ophanim, like cosmic horror.

Like a mirror

Like the sound of something knocking

Ever knocking ever more

Upon infinity's multicolored door

Here, with talons scratching

Knuckles rasping

Grasping Evermore

Like a wish asking to be let in.

Waiting for you to open the door.

Can you hear that great serpent Ouroboros knocking with its sharpened talons, dear reader?

Knocking upon Oblivion's multicolored door.

Can you hear it hissing in all the thousand languages of death?

The snake spoke.

And you heard it.

Perhaps you still do.
