The Confident Girl Project
Donation protected
The confident girl project is a project originating in 2021. After helping at multiple community service acts of feeding the homeless. I saw an underrepresented group of people in the homeless community. Women. The homeless shelter always receives clothes and food to be donated, but what about the elephant in the room? Menstruation products that all women need every month. This problem was being overlooked and avoided. I saw that and decided to do something about it because I understand what it is like being a girl. The subject is so taboo to non-menstruaters that people are not having their needs met. Our mission is to make 100 homeless and impoverished girls comfortable and, therefore, confident. That’s how the name the confident girl project came to be.
Mission Statement: Our mission is to raise awareness of the population of homeless and impoverished girls that need proper feminine hygiene products.
Objective: The confident girl project aims to create 100 re-usable items that provide girls with a statement of self-affirmation and feminine hygiene that they need.
