In March of 2021 my sister-in-law and her family suffered an unimaginable loss to their family. Not only did they lose their mother but also their father. On March 7, 2021 Rose and George Conklin became ill and were admitted to the hospital with COVID-19. Soon they were both diagnosed with COVID Pneumonia. After 2 1/2 weeks of battling COVID, Rose passed away on March 24, 2021 while her husband remained in the hospital bed right next to her. Nine days later, on April 5, 2021, George passed away. Together they shared 47 years of marriage. George and Rose are survived by their devoted children and their family: Georgie and Irish; Sue, Jeff and Aki; Jen, Eric and their two adoring grandchildren, Aiden and Cadence.
The unexpected and sudden passing of their parents has left Georgie, Sue and Jen mourning their loss while being responsible to settle their estate and try to maintain the family owned business. As with many small businesses, it has suffered financially during the pandemic. Over the past month, Georgie, Sue and Jen have incurred unexpected costs with attorney fees, funeral costs and multiple other bills to juggle while their parent’s estate and business get settled. They have been informed this could take up to 6-7 months to get everything in order. These incurring costs will continue and bring forth new financial challenges for the family. Please help raise money to support their financial needs during this unimaginable time while they cope with life without Rose and George.
Rose and George had a passion for life and most of all they treasured their family. Rose was a hard-working woman, who alongside her husband, and their children ran the family business that has operated since 1989. Rose was loved and admired by anyone who was fortunate to meet her and a mother figure to many. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He was known by many for his kindness and sense of humor. Over the last 25 years George and Rose had enjoyed spending more time with family and friends on their beloved Cape Cod. Jen and her family have adopted their cat, Stormy and dog, Dusty who are now adjusting to their new home.
