THE COPPOLA CAFE
Donation protected
A dear friend encouraged us to ask for help and kindly wrote out of her heart what she felt was right to say.
"For a little more than one year, Gabriele & Roberta have run the little Coppola Cafe on West 4th in the West Village. They left their beloved Italy to invest all their passion and finances in this new adventure. Struggling with language and local bureaucracy they weathered all difficulties to pursue their dream: creating the quintessential Sicilian Cafe experience for neighbors, students, artists, travelers and for whoever wanted to have a real Italian espresso in the city. Coppola's famous panelle, cassate, and cannoli delighted every palate. Their focacce and slices of pizza assembled one by one under their customers' eyes fully pleased the fussiest customers.
Thanks also to the help of their wonderful Barista, Andrew, The Coppola celebrated its first birthday, just a few weeks before Covid-19 impacted their already minimal margins forcing them, like many, many other restaurant owners in the city, to improvise a take-out business and eventually close the doors.
How You Can Help:
Coppola Cafe does not have enough funds to keep the business going and its employees on payroll. They are actively trying to access every institutional tool available but time is running out. They are looking to cover part of ordinary and extraordinary expenses through a fundraising goal of $ 10.000,00
If you can't donate, please help spread the word, maybe somebody else will be able to.
As a friend and as a devoted customer I hope they will be able to continue filling our hearts with their warm smiles and serve their authentic Italian delights!"
