The CPAP Quest

Happy birthday - you have severe sleep apnea and need a CPAP machine NOW!

If I did things normally, I wouldn't be me. The reality of my life right now is that I am being impacted in more ways than I could have dreamt of by severe sleep apnoea. As a chronically ill lady already, sleep apnoea was one guest I definitely didn't want joining the party. But here we are.

Unfortunately, CPAP machines are incredibly expensive, and I don't have the emergency fund to cover it.

Thanks to the incredible kindness and generosity of wonderful humans in combination with my emergency fund, I've already managed to raise nearly $1000. (Please insert celebration emoji here.)

That said... (Or rather, written.)

I had my first official appointment with the local sleep care, and they were very kind (they even waived the initial appointment cost, which was truly lovely of them). Unfortunately, the cost is more than I originally predicted. It is lovely in that they don't just give you a machine, mask, and accompanying bits and send you on your way. There are no hidden costs or fees, and they will be keeping an extra close eye on me for the first month, followed by a normally close eye on me in the months following that.

This fundraiser is to bridge the gap between what has been raised by direct donations through Ko-Fi and Paypal (seagreenzines at gmail.com) already and the total that needs to be paid.

I can't thank everyone who has already supported me enough. I will be doing my absolute best (especially as I gain more energy and good health over time!) to pay forward the kindness that has been given to me. <3

There may also be silly pictures of me during the next quest of finding a mask that will work for me. We'll see.
