The Craig's Need Our Help

Hi my name is Raquel Reed...let me tell you about my best friend!! My best friend Amanda Craig is a police officer and the wife of police officer, Drew Craig. Amanda has a long history of working in corrections and law enforcement, including years of devotion to the NSU Police Department, Wagoner Police Department, Adair County SO and the Stilwell Police Department. Drew has also devoted many years to multiple agencies in the area.

 

On May 30, 2021 their lives were changed forever when Amanda took a bullet to the leg while on the job. She was initially taken by helicopter to St. John's in Tulsa where she was stabilized and underwent surgery to have plates, rods and screws inserted into her lower leg to repair the damage. On May 31, 2021 she was released to the hospital and forced to be confined to a wheelchair during the healing process. Upon being released from the hospital a local church was nice enough to lend her a wheelchair ramp for their residence, which was installed by local law enforcement officers, church members and friends of Drew and Amanda. She has been using it since that time because she has been unable to put any weight on her leg.

 

Drew has been Amanda's rock through this entire process. He has been willing to go above and beyond to help her in the healing process. Some of which involves taking MULTIPLE leaves from work, trips to Tulsa and trips to physical therapy. Even with the recent development,

of being informed that Amanda will very soon have to undergo another surgery. The doctors have said that another surgery is needed to place more hardware and to do a bone graft since her bone has not healed itself correctly. This will cause Amanda to need to be in a wheelchair for a lot longer than initially thought.

 

I am asking for donations for the purchase and installation of a permanent metal ramp for their home and assistance with bills.

 

For a couple who have given so much to so many communities, I am asking for help for them.
