THE CROSSROADS SCHOLARSHIP FOR WHITE HOUSE HIGH SCHOOL
Tax deductible
You can make a difference by donating today to THE CROSSROADS SCHOLARSHIP IN MEMORY OF ODELL AND ESTERLENE STARKS.
The Crossroads Scholarship in Memory of Odell and Esterlene Starks was created by the children and grandchildren of Odell and Esterlene Starks to memorialize two incredible people. The scholarships creation is a means to further solidify their legacy while supporting the college aspirations of students at White House High School.
Odell and Esterlene were lifelong residents of Sumner County. They were graduates of the 1939 class at WHHS. Both of their sons graduated from WHHS (Lynne Starks class of 1963 and Wayne Starks class of 1965).
We are thrilled to announce that an anonymous alumni of WHHS has pledged to match up to $100,000 in scholarship donations that is received in 2024, amplifying our efforts to support deserving students in their pursuit of higher education.
With the ongoing support from our generous donors and the anticipated contributions from the matching gift, we aim to achieve our fundraising goal of $200,000 ($100,000 donated + $100,000 matching gift). This milestone will enable us to expand our scholarship program and offer up to 8 scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year, building upon our success of previous years where 2 scholarships were awarded in 2023 and 3 scholarships in 2024.
Additionally, there is the White House High School Class Challenge for alumni. This will go hand in hand with the $100,000 matching donation. Each class is challenged to raise $5,000 towards the scholarship fund for 2024. The class that raises the most money will have a scholarship named in their honor during the awards ceremony in 2025, fostering friendly competition and camaraderie among our alumni.
All monies donated will be 100% tax deductible.
Thank you for your continued support!
