The Curtis family needs our support

The beautiful Curtis family have lost everything they own in the devastating Northern Rivers floods. They would never ask for help, they are usually the ones helping others and now it’s our turn to return the favour and support them in this time of need.

 

The Curtis family have spent their entire lives living on their beloved property in Chinderah, Northern NSW. Their home was severely damaged in the 2017 floods however they held on to as much as they could and repaired where they could to stay in their family

home they loved so much. This time it’s just not possible - their home was fully submerged in flood waters, their cars, caravan, everything they poses is a write off, their daughter Sammy-Jo ran her fitness business out of the gym her and her family built on the property, thousands of dollars of equipment is gone and now a large part of Sammy-Jo’s income stream. Their home is now a knock down it resembles a war-zone, they have nothing left and to add salt to the wound Insurance won’t cover any of it.

 

On top of the devastation, tools, Curt’s work ute and other work materials were lost and damaged beyond repair so not only have they lost everything they own, they can’t continue on making a financial living due to loss of materials and also Wayne’s (commonly

know by everyone in the community as Curt) place of work has been flooded and impacted by the floods.

 

Kellie (known by so many as “Mumma Kel) Curt, Tup, Sammy-Jo and Jessie are the most generous, welcoming, caring, proud, fun, Aussie Larrikin family you could have the pleasure of knowing, they would give you the shirt off their back literally. Their house was a home to so many, Kel and Curt bringing everyone in and loving them like their own!! They have been turning away supplies that people have been delivering as Kel says “other people need it more”

 

This family needs our help, their spirits are broken and they are trying to pick up the pieces on their own! Please help me in giving as little or as much as you can to help this amazing family back on their feet and start building their lives. Our community has been so amazing in helping over the last week, unfortunately for some, supplies won’t cut it when you don’t have a home, car or electricity to store it.
