The Davy Lopez Memorial Adventure Fund
Donation protected
Davy Lopez, our loyal friend and adventurer, passed away on Friday May 17th, 2024 doing what he loved, climbing Mt Shasta with a friend. Davy was an exceptionally passionate person who jumped headlong into every endeavor and relationship with infinite energy. His adventurous spirit inspired the same fire in those around him. Friends, family and hundreds, if not thousands of strangers, that would soon become friends, all benefited from Davy’s love of adventure as he was always inviting everyone around him to join in. He was a climber, caver, white water river runner, hot spring enthusiast, and discoverer of hidden places. But above all, his greatest adventure was being a husband and father, and sharing those adventures with his wife and two daughters.
There are endless stories of Davy’s adventures, and sometimes misadventures (which made some of the best stories and memories). Although Davy has left this world, he leaves behind a community who relied on him, and we are energized to carry his torch to the next peak. This memorial fund is to keep Davy’s adventures going for those who relied on him most, his wife and two daughters.
Davy’s spirit lives on in all of us, and as a community, we can come together to ensure his spirit will be there to teach his daughters how to place pro on a lead climb, roll a kayak, navigate whitewater, and go on backpacking trips to secret hot springs. This fund will help continue to pass on Davy’s spirit of adventure to his wife and daughters by taking away as many obstacles as possible to their future adventures. Davy’s giant smile will always be there, quietly mentioning the goal remains “just around the corner.”
For all that Davy has done for us, for all he would have done for his family, we ask for your support to ensure his legacy continues.
