The Deering Family Needs Your Help

Hi, My name is Kristin Allen and my oldest and dearest friend, Ginger Deering, needs our help. Since Easter Sunday, her husband, Dave, has been in the ICU at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY, 6 weeks today. He was hospitalized with his 2nd heart attack and pancreatitis. His kidneys have failed, and he is on dialysis 24 hours a day. His abdomen and body are swollen from the pancreatitis, and he is receiving his nutrition from an IV. He has had internal bleeding multiple times, the last time today. He is currently intubated for the 2nd time during his hospitalization to help his body oxygenate better. It is a complicated circle trying to support the different parts of his failing body at the same time. He is still critically ill, and the future is unknown.

The Deering family has a powerful faith in god. They have always supported people in their churches, communities, and the country and world through mission programs in Africa, Romania, and Belize. Giving to and serving others is a good motto for Ginger, Dave and their son, Jarrod. They are the nicest people I know, who would do absolutely anything for anyone.

They are not used to being on the receiving end, but Ginger, Dave and Jarrod need our help. Ginger has only been back to work a few times at this point. She has spent most of her time at Dave's bedside while trying to manage everything else simultaneously. It is unclear when or if Dave will be able to work again. In addition, there will be medical bills to pay in the future.
