The Dennerline Family Home Lost in Palisades Fire

The Dennerlines lost their family home in the Pacific Palisades fire. Everyone was at work when the news broke and the evacuation orders were issued - thankfully Dash happened to stop by the house during his lunch break and had the foresight to take Goo (our dog) and Kiwi (our cat) with him. Thankfully, the family and pets are safe, but the entirety of the house and all of our belongings were destroyed by the fire. After Dash had left, none of us were allowed to return to the home because the Palisades fire had grown, and they locked down all the main routes to the Palisades.
We cannot begin to contemplate the loss; so many family photos, my mom's incredible private gym that she poured her heart and soul into and was a sanctuary for many, my dad's PGA-sponsored golf collection and accolades throughout his professional golfing years, and essentially all of our belongings including passports, birth certificates, baby books, jewelry, clothes, amongst many others. We all have our own individual losses that hurt the most. I know that all of our framed family photos and tapes from the 90's and early-2000s, the only visible memory from our childhood, was the most profound loss for me. I wish I could go back and grab all of it, and of course, spend the time creating a record of all of it.
Most importantly, the house itself will be the greatest devastation for us. We share so many loving memories with our family dinners, endless laughter, music and good ol' fashioned cooking, and evenings filled with fireside chats; so many birthdays, holidays, or really any Tuesday night. It was more than home. It was a safe haven where we could all go, and find warmth and support, especially when we needed it most. I'm in shock, devastated, in tears, and angry thinking about not having our home.
This whole experience has felt cruel and unfair, especially to our parents at 70 and 74 years old (sorry mom and dad, but they need to know!). They are the kindest, most hard working, generous, loving, accepting, nonjudgemental people in the world, and they spent their entire lives building this foundation. It's a situation of not having insurance and no retirement plan. We, the children, are rallying and doing everything we can to support each other. We are so extremely grateful for any contribution.
With so much love and appreciation, and sincerely grateful for all the kind messages,
Luke, Daisy, and Dash
