The Denton Family (Please help Nic)

Hi, my name is Kassie and I have a dear friend who is need of some help. They are the kindest, most loving people you will ever meet in your lifetime and no one is more deserving than they are. Megan and her husband Nic have 2 awesome little boys who are very active in sports and school activities and Meagan has dedicated her life and time to help saving others. Well, this time, Meagan and her family are the ones needing help and I think that together, we can get them the help and resources they need to fight. Nic, Meagan's husband Nic, has always been very involved in his young sons sports and activities including coaching and cheering them on from the dugout and the sidelines of the football field. This family needs prayers as well as any kind of support they can get from our community. Please help me make this struggle they are going through right now as painless as possible. I really do not know of a more deserving family than these guys! Here is their story and the details of the horrible accident that happened to Nic,

As some of you may know, Our Family has experienced some very difficult times over the last last 3 months. On January 16th, my husband Nic went in for a routine adjustment at his Chiropractor for mild stenosis in his lower back. He did not walk out of the office that day. A drop table he was on, malfunctioned and caused a traumatic spinal cord injury. He had to be carried out of the office and wasn't able to walk for 2 weeks after. The injury caused Spinal Cord Compression, severe Stenosis and straightening of C6-T1 and L2-L5. He has lost some of the function in his right arm and hand, difficulty holding on to things, and debilitating spasms. He has lost alot of muscle tone in his right arm and strength in his hand. He has numbness in his bladder and He is in excruciating pain all the time. We have spent the last 3 months in and out of the Emergency Room and Doctors offices. Nic has had multiple MRIs, Xrays, Ultrasounds,and A very painful nerve conduction study. He has had spinal injections and been put on multiple medications. Nic is not one to want to take anything more than a multivitamin, so transitioning to a daily medication Regimen has been a big adjustment as well. He is in Physical Therapy as well. With all of this, the damage has only gotten worse, as his left arm and hand are now being effected and with his lower back in spasms and pain as well, he is only able to sleep in a recliner and only for a few hours at a time. This has been a nightmare for us. Watching the person you love crumble in pain while their spirit seems to evaporate before your eyes is a horrible and helpless feeling. The Boys miss their dad so much and sometimes dont understand why he cant do the things he used to be able to do with them, but they have been adjusting and helping us out much more. I'm in School full time ( FINALLY getting my RN BSN!) And working full time ( Long shifts at The Hospital). Its been very hard trying to figure out our financial situation with just one income as well as all the medical bills that are already coming in. This has has been such a life changing / altering ordeal and I have struggled with how / when to let everyone know. My husband Is a very private person, but He finally gave me permission to share this with everyone.

We do FINALLY have an appointment at KU Medical Center Neurology Next week! Please pray with us that There are no issues with insurance .

We know that he will need Surgery, most likely more than one, to try and correct the damage before more permanent damage is done. I ask for Prayers that we will get through this life event and Nic will be restored at end of this journey

We know that God is good. He has a plan for us and he won't leave us. Some days that is the only thing that keeps us going.
