The Diane Featherstone Fund
Donation protected
In early 2017 Diane was hospitalized and on bedrest for pneumonia and bronchitis. She seemed to be slowly but surely recovering from these ailments when she then contracted shingles. A somewhat common and treatable disease that occurs when your immune system reactivates the chickenpox virus. Unknowingly and very rare, this virus crossed her blood brain barrier and quickly turned into viral encephalitis which left untreated is a fatal disease. Fighting for her life for two weeks and eventually put into an induced coma, we all knew she was strong and could make it through this. However, the seriousness of this disease never escaped our thoughts for a moment. As many of you know, once she regained consciousness her physical and mental abilities returned quickly and progressed amazingly. As we write this she is still currently hospitalized, but her release to return home is a week if not days away. As she continues to heal and rehabilitate at home, this is where Diane will need the most help from friends and family.
Diane's love and devotion to her family, friends and yoga school are unmeasurable. What she has given out to her community over the years is an immense blessing. Diane loves her work and we know she will return to it as soon as she is able. In the meantime we are hoping this fundraiser can help pay for insurance co-pays and uncovered hospital expenses associated with her one-month hospital stay. We also hope that this fundraiser will pay for her basic living expenses while she recovers. Your support is crucial to her recovery. Please consider giving today.
