The Dress - Nicole and Paul’s first film!

Paul and I are producing our first short film together. We are funding this film on our own and are trying to raise the last few thousand to pay for a couple of key things (listed below).
The Dress is about 10-year-old phone-obsessed Farida and her tamale making Abuelita. This family friendly comedy-drama is full of cooking, sewing and daydreams.
Immediate funding (received by 3/5) will be used for:

Production Insurance
Feeding the crew
BTS Photographer
Funding received after our shoot will be used to submit our film to festivals. ***We really need to hire a hair/makeup artist ASAP***

From the Director:
My name is Nicole Waszak Mendez. I am co-writer, director, and post-production for The Dress. The idea for this film came to me two years ago, about the time I found out I was pregnant with my third child. Since then, as a result of numerous late night chats with my patient and attentive husband, The Dress has evolved and taken on a life of its own. What started out as a silent film with one character is now a beautiful story about distance between generations and the relationship between a girl and her grandmother - with humor, joy AND dialogue!
My husband and co-writer, Paul, is producing The Dress. He has spent almost two decades in the film industry and specializes in location sound. His years spent on set combined with his meticulous attention to detail has made him the perfect work partner for this project. His industry contacts have helped us to build a wonderful and enthusiastic crew that I feel very fortunate to have on board.
