The Dunbar Family can use our help.

My name is Shannon Page and I have known the Dunbar Family for almost a decade. Anyone who knows the Dunbar Family knows that they are the most giving and selfless people. They will go out of their way to help others and are known to show random acts of kindness to many. I have started this Go Fund Me with the hope that any money raised for them can assist in covering the unplanned funeral as well as the expenses they have incurred.
Lawrence Dunbar unexpectedly passed away on October 25th, leaving behind his wife, Jeanette, and their daughter, Jazmin. The family is shocked and saddened by this loss and, unfortunately, not financially prepared as this was unexpected.
Lawrence was a dialysis patient and, from time to time, would be sent to the hospital for transfusions. About 8 weeks ago, Lawrence was transferred from dialysis to the hospital and admitted due to increased fatigue, confusion and swelling in his legs. The days (and weeks) that followed were nothing short of a nightmare for the Dunbars. It was discovered that Lawrence's legs were filled with blockages. He had surgery to try to clear the blockages but ultimately had both legs amputated. This was beyond devasting for Lawrence and his family. With a "Life over limb" attitude, they were determined to get through this together. Still in the hospital a few weeks later, Lawrence was not healing and having additional complications, even with the help of a large team of doctors. On Friday, October 21st, late in the afternoon, the doctors told Jeanette and Lawrence that there was nothing else they could do as his body was too weak and unable to fight off the infections. Lawrence passed at Baystate Medical Center four days later, surrounded by his family.
Jeanette is left to pick up the pieces and establish a new norm for her and Jazmin. Jazmin, a daddy's girl (and the first one to tell you that,) is a Senior in High School. She lost her dad at the most pivotal time in her life and right before the most emotional time of the year, the holidays. Being a 17-year-old teenager is hard enough, let alone add in this devastation. Jeanette had been with Lawrence for 32 years. He has been her constant for her entire adult life. Jeanette is the rock of the family. She burned the candle at both ends for years to ensure that Lawrence was taken care of and that Jazmin didn't miss out on being a teenager. Jeanette always put her needs behind everyone else. She never asked for anything; she would go without; that is the kindhearted, giving person she is. This time is different; Jeanette and Jazmin need assistance.
Please consider donating to help out Jeanette and Jazmin Dunbar. They have been through the unthinkable. Let's help them in their time of need.
