The Dunbar Hotel Groundbreaking
Donation protected
Sitting in the beautiful and historic neighborhood of Pleasant Street, The Dunbar Hotel welcomed the African American travelers that toured the south during Segregation. The Chitlin’ Circut bringing big names in music supplied the hotel with entertainers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington.
Now, the purpose of this great building is to reawaken that spirit in our community by paying homage to it’s past. Not just with it’s wine bar and restaurant focusing on old Florida style foods, it’s gift shop filled with items by local artisans and craftsmen, but also by building strong neighborhood bonds and supporting young musicians through The Dunbar Hotel Foundation.
The money we raise begins with getting us set up to succeed. Once the doors are open, all donation proceeds go directly to the foundation for scholarships and supporting young musicians in our community.
